For the last 20 years I have worked in innovative tech companies adding value to the business by the development and operational management of the workplace and the Real Estate it is housed in.
I was lucky enough to be able to do this across many countries in EMEA and APAC and met many colleagues from all sectors of the Tech business.
Was all of that time away from home worth it? Absolutely!. 10 years full of fast pace, growth and continual change as the software market evolved from perpetual license to Software as a Service.
As the market evolved, so did the workplace. The way people interact with their space became a crucial factor in performance. The entire Workplace Experience also became a critical factor in attracting and retaining top talent in the sector.
I worked hard to understand the different needs of different groups, as I believe space is a tool and Sales need different tools to R&D. I developed rolling programs of Workplace Evolution to allow space to develop naturally with the market trends without requiring large CAPEX spends, worked with in-house branding teams to bring the company identity to the work environment and utilized the latest in social media to connect with the workforce and hear the views of the people who live and work in the spaces I make.
